This Black Oak bowl has a lot going on! It came from a tree in my back yard that fell down. As I was cutting it up I saw why it had fallen. The inside of the tree had various stages of decay. This piece is very sold, but it does display the beginning of the dying process. Any cracks or voids have been filled. The bowl has a remarkable smooth finish and can be used as a salad bowl or other type of serving bowl. It feels great to the touch.
