This Black Oak bowl is HUGE! It came from a tree that fell over in my back yard. The tree was dying and the bowl shows the various symptoms of the slow death. It had a large knot that fell out as I was turning it so I made the knot hole round and plugged it with a beautiful piece of Manzanita Root Burl. It has a food safe finish and can be used at a salad or serving bowl, but it is rather heavy. It might best be used as a coffee table or corner of the room "hold-all" bowl.
