This thick Valley Oak salad bowl is virtually indestructible. It has a fairly thick wall that gives it some extra weight. The turned in "Calabash style" shape makes it an excellent salad bowl. The finish is food safe. The wood came from an old tree that some fiends had to cut down. WOOD: Valley Oak; SIZE: 11" Diameter by 5" Tall; WEIGHT: 2 Pounds 8 Ounces.
