This deeply spalted Silver Maple bowl was turned from a piece that was rough turned about five years ago. I finally decided to see what I could do with it. The dark lines are "spalting zones" where different fungi in the wood form barriers to the other fungi trying to maintain their territory. This is a perfect example of it. WOOD: Splated Silver Maple; SIZE: 9 1/2" Diameter by 3 3/4" Tall: WEIGHT: 14 Ounces.
